Aeroeskoebing - Denmark

Aeroeskoebing is the main town of the small island of Aeroe situated in the Baltic Sea south of the Danish island of Funen. I happen to be born in Aeroeskoebing and therefore I have a special affinity to that town. My family owns a small town house, which we use for holidays and other events. It is my goal to make models of every building in the town. So far I have managed to do so by taking advantage of a book, which was published a few years ago showing pictures and providing useful information about the history and the architectural features of each of the buildings in the old town centre. These have been supplemented by pictures taken by myself and lately by making use of images made available after the town was visited by the Google Street View people. Although I am concentrating on the town of Aeroeskoebing, my collection also includes some other parts of the island. In particular some of the many village churches as well as the small village of Bregninge, where I have been focusing on the area around my grandfather’s bakery.
