Székesfehérvár - capital of Fejér county - is a large Hungarian city with a population of 110,000 people; an outstanding economic strength of the country. As the innovation center of the right now developing Budapest-Győr-Székesfehérvár industrial triangle it plays an important role in the technology transfer that contributes to the economic renewal of the country. Up to the early Middle ages Székesfehérvár had been the capital of Hungary and a royal town. Later its importance diminished and another aggressive development stage started only in the 18th century. Baroque features of the downtown have developed at that time and this is still retained by several historical monuments as a tourists value. Since then a continuous economic growth has been characteristic to the city.
