This collection is just for the competition of 2012 Model Your Town. The old town of Zuoying was established between 17th century as a military fortress and an administration city by Koxinga, the king of Formosa. In 1684, Zouying became the capital of Fengshan County (the Phoenix Hill county) of Taiwan under the Mandarin China governance. In 1722, the government began to build the city wall and gates. In 1895, Taiwan was occupied by the Japanese Government. The Japanese built a naval harbor called Sa'ei in Japanese at the western site of the city wall. In 1945, the town became an important naval harbor by the KMT Government. Now, it is the north center of Kaohsiung Metropolitan. People can find some different cultures from the history of Zuoying, like the old town, the naval dependents' villages and new buildings in Kaohsiung, etc.
