River Rouge, MI is a city located across the namesake river from Detroit. It was incorporated as a city in 1921 and a major population boom took place after the Ford Rouge Plant opened in nearby Dearborn. Today, it is currently trying to come back after recent financial woes. It is the location of a DTE Edison power plant and a massive steel mill, but it is most famous as the city containing Zug Island.
