Barrow-in-Furness (Cumbric: Barragh-yn-Faiddis), often known simply as Barrow, is an industrial town and seaport which forms about half the territory of the wider Borough of Barrow-in-Furness in the county of Cumbria, England. It lies 59 miles (95 km) northwest of Manchester and 54 miles (87 km) south southwest from the county town of Carlisle. The town is situated at the tip of the Furness peninsula bordered only by Morecambe Bay and the Irish Sea. Barrow is located just over 220 miles (350 km) north-west of London and 60 miles (97 km) south of the Scottish border.
