Davenport, Iowa is located on the banks of the Mississippi River where the mighty river takes a rare east to west bend. Davenport is a city of nearly 100,000 citizens and was named (along with Rock Island, Illinois) as the 2007 Most Livable City under a population of 100,000 by the U.S. Conference of Mayors. The award recognized the unique bi-state cooperation between Rock Island and Davenport on the Rivervision project which will transform the riverfront on both sides of the Mississippi.
