American Capitols de Zoungy |
A collection of photo-textured models of the fifty State Capitols of the USA. At last! After two years somebody finally completed the collection by modeling the South Carolina State Capitol! Thanks to Paul Medley, architect, who made the model. Some trivia... New Mexico has the only round state house. The last domed capitol (W. Virginia) was built in 1932, but the dome on Oklahoma's 1919 capitol was not completed until 2002. It was made from modern materials but followed the original plans. In the 1930s Art Deco office towers replaced domes in newer capitol designs. Hawaii's capitol is modeled after a volcano and surrounded by water. Note: To view models I made myself, search Zoungy; they are also in the collection called "Models By Zoungy." The name of the person or group who posted/created each model here, is located beside the model name itself.
