Taylor, MI, incorporated in 1968, is located southwest of Detroit and is home to the Wayne County Community College District's Downriver campus; Southland Center, the only mall in Wayne County that is south of I-94 and the Masco Headquarters, one of the world's largest manufacturers of building supplies and one of the largest US distributors to America's two largest home improvement stores, Home Depot and Lowe's. Detroit Metro Airport also lies a mile west of the western limits. Two freeways pass through the city: I-94 through the far north side and I-75 in the far southeast corner.
