An environmentally conscious alternative to burial, the Neptune Memorial Reef houses the cremated remains of dive and ocean enthusiasts. The reef is located 3.25 miles east of Key Biscayne in Miami and contains 16 acres of open water diving. In addition to facilitating memorials, the reef also serves as a training ground for students of marine biology, and an underwater theme park with no admission charge for scuba divers.
