The University Hill District is a significant part of Boulder and The University of Colorado. It is home to many local (as well as non-local) businesses, restaurants, and services. The architecture is humble and welcoming, the atmosphere charming. Some buildings, such as the one housing The Sink (bar and restuarant) are old masonry houses converted to include business at the street level. The Fox Theater, a venue to many famous artists over the years, sits in the middle of 13th street and is one of Boulder's most prominent landmarks and attractions. Most buildings in this district are two or three stories in height, allowing for only a small number of people to be housed above the shops. The Hill is most popular among young college students, but the majority of Boulder's residents also have a strong attachment to it. Model created by Crystal V. Olin.
