St. Paul's former headquarters Station 8, located at 9th (formerly 8th) and Minnesota streets also included the departmental blacksmith shops in the rear of the station. This was a large building housing not only the fire equipment and manpower, but also all the administrative fire department staff. Over the years the streets surrounding the station were renumbered. The building no longer stands.
