The Sikorsky AG-12 Shade Light Attack Gunship is the smallest gunship in the Confederation. A single Rolls-Royce ID-630 Ion Jet provides thrust. Because the Shade’s wings are not long enough to provide much lift, it has 8 nozzles spread across the airframe pointed permanently down for lift. A further two larger nozzles are mounted directly behind the engine providing forward thrust, and also capable of tilting 90 degrees down to hover. Attached to the forward fuselage are a light laser cannon and 2 Cerberus Mini Rocket Pods, each with 27 rockets. Under the wing stubs it can carry a further 4 Cerberus Pods, 6 AGM-915 Crimson Air to Ground Missiles, 2 AIM-312 Airblade Air to Air Missiles, and 2 AT-72 Bulldog Anti-Tank Missiles. For its size the Shade can do a lot of damage, wreaking havoc by dropping in unnoticed and then unleashing it’s payload before flying out at up to Mach 1.5. Controlled by a neural link, the Shade has a control column only for manual emergency purposes, such as if the link breaks down. All the info on the fully detailed instrument panel is also sent direct to the pilot's brain. Thanks to Max Grueter for the pilot and seat.
