The Denver Mint is located, appropriately, near the Capitol, Civic Center and several other city and county government buildings. In the rise of Denver's success, the New York City firm Tracy, Swarthwort and Litchfield designed the Mint after the Palazzo Medici-Riccardi in Florence, IT and completed the building in 1906. The first level is clad in black-flecked pink Pikes Peak granite with a contrasting second level in gray granite ashlar. Today, the Mint is the citys most popular free and attraction and a stately reminder of Denver's history and the rennaissance origins of banking. Model created by Alex Juhola.
