The scenic highlight of the Dawson Creek Subdivision is the crossing of the East Pine River at Mile 16.68, which is approached via a steep two per cent downgrade in either direction.
The bridge was erected in 1957 during construction of the line and has remained in operation by BC Rail ever since.
The East Pine River bridge comprises three continuous deck girder trusses supported on four concrete piers with a deck plate grider approach span at either end.
The bridge measures 1,013 feet in length overall and stands 163 feet above the river.
