This 45m tower is designed to express the essence of flight and its past, present and future, conveying the economic development of Bahrain as a statement of the Kingdom's readiness to meet the challenges of the new millennium. An additional dimension is conveyed through the resemblance of the tower to a sail, a symbol of this island nation's seafaring traditions stretching back long before the dawn of aviation. Special features include:Concrete core steel frame and composite aluminium panel cladding system VIP area on the Ground Floor and separate viewing room at 35m. Main ATC room of 12m diameter to house six controllers.
