This is the main hut constructed by the 1911-1914 Australian Antarctic expedition led by Sir Douglas Mawson. It was prefabricated in Sydney and Melbourne and erected at Cape Denison, which is on the coast of Antarctica due south of the Australian island of Tasmania. Modelled by Peter Olsen, Brighton-le-Sands, Sydney, Australia.
