Built in 1915, the Kamsack Water Tower is one of four, with a similar lighthouse-like construction, left in Saskatchewan. The others are in Weyburn, Kerrobert and Humboldt. The tower used to have a peak roof like the other water towers, but it disappeared when the great cyclone hit Kamsack in 1944. It then received a flat roof and the neon Kamsack sign. The water tower was decommissioned in 1978. As a Saskatchewan Centennial project the sign was turned back on in November of 2004.
