La Basilica di Superga sorge sull'omonimo colle ad est di Torino. Fu fatta costruire dal re Vittorio Amedeo II come ringraziamento alla Vergine Maria, dopo aver sconfitto i francesi che assediavano Torino nel 1706. Il progetto è del messinese Filippo Juvarra e risale al 1711.
