Provenance: Benjamin Allison, first owner; William Deaver (farmer), second owner | Architectural Note: The Deavers expanded the home over the years until it reached its present form in the mid-nineteenth century. The house doubled in size, added Federal and Greek Revival details, and was reoriented to the road. | Historical Note: Constructed in the early nineteenth century, the house is one of the oldest frame dwellings in the state west of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
