The foundation stone of the castle Guédelon was laid not until 1997 by Michel Guyot. The operations at the castle in 13th century style will still last for 15 years. The State of France and the European Union finance the project of experimantal archaeology with 2.5 million euros, additionaly funds are raised by 250 000 visitors per year.
