Leominster is a small market town in the Northern part of Herefordshire county in the West of England near the Welsh border. In 2011, a small a bronze monument was erected in the Buttercross in front of the the Barclays Bank. It is a model of of the Grange Court formerly called the Market House (see SketchUp model of the Grange Court in the Leominster collection.) The monument is in the form of a table top map of the Buttercross with the Market House in its original position. Embossed on the tale top is this explanation, “This is a model of Leominster Market House, erected in 1633 by King’s carpenter John Abel, as it originally stood on this site. The Market House was moved in 1865 to a site near the Priory [church] and renamed Grange Court. It is generally thought to be the finest surviving example of its kind in Britain.” It goes on to say, “Project managed by the DogRose Trust of Ludlow with Omega Models of Glasgow and Castle Fine Arts Foundry of Oswestry.” .......
(My opinion: this is as close to a joke as you can get in SketchUp or Gogle Earth.)
