The Friedrichswerder Church (Gr. Friedrichswerderschekirche) was the first Neo-Gothic church built in Berlin. The church was designed by an architect better known for his Neo-classical architecture, Karl Friedrich Schinkel, built under his direction between 1824 and 1931. Now it serves as a museum, housing the Alte Nationalgalerie collection of 19th centory German sculpture, and a exhibition of work and life of the architect, Schinkel.
