Most Holy Mary church (St. Mary) in Sand in Wrocław, - a monastic church, placed in the Piasek island on the Odra river . Latin name of the church is Sancta Maria in Arena and it comes from a roman church św. Marii that had built in the place of an ancient circus, however it became a habit to translate arena as sand and that gave the origin of the name of this island. (source: wikipedia)
