This is a model of the two 50KWh Solar-Parking structures that already exist at Foothill College, and are providing power to the campus.
They are the basis for a larger project done in March, 2007 for my Advanced Geographic Information Systems (GIS) class. That project involvied a proposed 3.2 Megawatt solar array on a larger adjacent lot.
I worked on the design and placement of the array, as well as the analysis of solar input and shading factors to determine year-round energy potentials, as well as problem areas to avoid.
Model designed by Patrick Salsbury. Further details on the project are <a href="http://reality.sculptors.com/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=Foothill-solar" >here</a>
