Designed by Rennan Vasselai
From: Balneário Camboriu, Brazil
Shelter location: Chile
Date submitted: August 25, 2009
Located in the Atacama, the driest desert, the shelter has circular shape in order to disperse wind at night and heat during the day. It’s elevated from the floor to avoid animals and decrease the entrance of sand. Structure is prefabricated of concrete with clay inside to avoid heating. And small triangular windows let just few sun rays enter. Internally, stairs are what separates sleeping and studying areas.
