Dan Suttin's "OCTA-TETRA" construction components (octahedrons & tetrahedrons) were used by Mr. Suttin to construct this configuration as sculpture at the 2009 San Antonio "Luminaria" • It was called “The Big Ball”, or more technically, “Variation on the Truncated Icosahedron” • Made of 840 regular octahedrons and 1740 regular tetrahedrons • Held together with paper clips and white glue • It took over 500 hours to create, and another 10 hours to re-assemble at the convention center
