According to its web site, “The Eden Project exists to explore our dependence on the natural world, rebuilding connections of understanding that have faded from many people's lives. Much of the Eden Project site tells the story of how plants support our social, economic and environmental well-being.”
The Eden Project is built inside an old China Clay mine site near the town of St. Austell. Its most impressive buildings are the eight Biomes, gigantic geodesic domes said to be the world’s largest greenhouses. One collection of Biomes houses a tropical environment and the other a Mediterranean climate.
I would like to thank Taff Goch for all his help in understanding Geodesic Domes and how to build them in SketchUp. Anyone interested should visit http://groups.google.com/group/GeodesicHelp?hl=en.
