Historic structure that houses the editorial and printing operations of this locally operated daily newspaper in a thriving rural community in NW CO. Built in 1900 by Alex Robinson & E.A. Aiken, this was the original home of the Craig Crescent Club. It was used, at various times as the Craig Post Office, a ready-to-wear store, an undertaking parlor, a taxidermy shop and a restaurant. In 1920, it became the home of the Craig Courier. In 1923, the Courier and Craig Empire consolidated and formed the Craig Empire Courier. The building was remodeled to accommodate the expanded newspaper publishing operations. In 1935, the building was again remodeled. The Empire Courier last published in June 1982. Bob Sweeney bought the N.W. Daily Press from Chuck Stoddard in 1974. Today, the building is occupied by the Craig Daily Press. It was remodeled in the late 1970’s when the building to the south was built. - Please call the Craig Daily Press for all of your promotional printing, press release, local advertising, legal notice, and other periodical needs at (970) 824-7031.
