The "Pleinfelder Tor " (gate towards Pleinfeld) is nowadays the only intact city gate of Ellingen. The other two gates were destroyed in or after Second World War. The gate's face shows the symbol of the Teutonic Knights ("Deutscher Orden"). Today the gate houses a small museum of local history.
