Sources of the Landgrave's Castle go back to the 12th century. This castle recunstruct between 14th and 15th century to a residence for the landgrave of Hessen. From 1518 to 1567 here was the residence of Landgrave Philipp. After him Ludwig IV. becomes the Landgrave of Hessen in the castle of Marburg. In 1807 troops of Napoleon disrupt a part of the castle. Today you can visit a great part of the castle, inthere is a historical museum. Modell built by D. Beyer.
