The Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation is the highest court in Mexico and head of the Judiciary of the Federation. He is responsible for defending the order established by the Constitution of the United Mexican States, maintain a balance between the various authorities and government bodies, and resolve, so definitive judicial matters of great social relevance, through judicial decisions dictated . Therefore, and since the principal and highest court of a constitutional nature, there is no body or authority that is above it or judicial action may be brought against its decisions. The Supreme Court consists of eleven ministers, one appointed "Minister President. " The current Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is John N. Meza Silva, elected on January 3, 2011 for a period until 31 December 2014.
