The Fokker D.VI was submitted to a competition organized early 1918, to replace Albatross DV who began to suffer meet new Spad, and Sopwith RAF Se.5. It is a derivative of Fokker Dr.I were grafted a biplane wing, which resembles that of the Fokker D. VII.
The Fokker D. VI won the contest, despite the low power of his original engine (110HP). It was commissioned early 1918 to 120 copies, but only 60 were made of the arrival of the Fokker D. VII, more powerful and more efficient. The aircraft built primarily used in units at the back and responsible for intercepting bombers allies. This device Jasta 80b belong to LTN. Seit flew 'Fratz.
