The Palazzo delle Assicurazioni Generali di Venezia, was built in Piazza Venezia near the Palazzo Venezia, between 1906 and 1911 by the architects Alberto Manassei, Arturo Pazzi and Guido Cirilli during the renovation of the square caused by the construction of Vittoriano. The building incorporates the broad outlines of Palazzo Venezia also incorporating the tower on the south-west corner. The facade has large arches on the ground floor, separated from the upper floors from a frieze marcapiano continuous painting. The upper part is characterized by a series of romanic windows surmounted by little windows and, in a central position, from a lion of St. Marco, dating back to the sixteenth century and coming from a bastion of the walls of Padua.
