The Pompeii Temple of Vespasian, also known as the Sanctuary of the Genius of Augustus, is located on the eastern side of the Forum beside the Eumachia building. Vespasian was emperor of Rome from 69 A.D. until his death in 79 A.D. He was the father of Titus, emperor when Vesuvius erupted. The temple was rededicated to Vespasian and a new alter was installed shortly before the eruption . Modelled by Peter Olsen, Brighton-le-Sands, Sydney, Australia.
