THE STORY: Almost two centuries before Columbus landed in America shores, a very old Czech royal dynasty of the Premyslids, based in Prague, controlled most of Eastern Europe, an area even larger than the Holy Roman Empire. However, without the support of Pope, Czech king loses Hungary, and following the assassination of Wenceslas III in 1306, the last male member of the royal family, the Czech kingdom lost Poland and even the king. After the failure in the east, comes a new strategy. In 1310, the Princess Elisabeth, the sister of Wenceslas, married John of Luxembourg, the son of Roman Emperor. This policy leads to success.
