Designed by the architectural firm Warren & Wetmore. Standing 565 feet, the tower originally served as headquarters of the New York Central railroad companies. Above the elevator doors, bronze reliefs depict a winged helmet surrounding a globe, symbolizing the American empire's global reach. Purchased in 2006 by Istithmar, an investment firm owned by the royal family of Dubai, for $705 million.
