Earth • Textured with a 4096x2048 pixel texture image • SketchUp 6 doesn't display texture resolutions above 1024x1024 pixels, unless supported by (1) your graphics hardware, (2) OpenGL driver, and (3) a "hack" to SketchUp settings in the Windows registry • Depending on OpenGL support, your Windows system may be able to display 2048- or 4096-pixel image textures • (Sorry, I don't think there's a hack for Mac systems) • (EDIT: SketchUp 7 supports higher resolutions) • Texture image from NASA's "Blue Marble" project, available online • Image wrapped onto geodesic-triangulated sphere, using the "UVtools" plugin • Read about Windows registry setting for OpenGL-texture size:
