This is the almost unique structure that today we refer to as the Osireion. It is located within the enclosure walls, perfectly aligned, with King Seti I Temple, XIX Dynasty (1293-1188 BC) in Abydos (Abjdu), Egypt. The architecture of the Osireion is suggested to be inspired by the Valley Temple of King Khafre at Giza, Egypt. This model is a faithful attempt to reconstruct the Osireion to scale using ancient Egyptian measurements of royal cubits (RC). 1 Royal Cubit (RC) = 0.524 mtr. / 52.4 cm. The center of the Osireion is a rectangular island with 10 Aswan rose colored granite pillars each 4 RC (2.096 mtr.) square and 8 RC (4.192 mtr.) high. 2 unequal receptacles carved into the center of the floor. At either end of the island, stairways about 7 RC (3.668 mtr.) lead down into the water channel. The channel surrounding the island is about 4 RC (2.096 mtr.) across, 7 RC (3.668 mtr.) deep. The outside walls of the structure, made of red sandstone, some 12 RC (6.288 mtr.) thick, contain 6 cells on each of the room's long sides, 3 more on the wall facing King Seti I's temple, and three more on the opposite wall.
