Designed by Simon George
From: Eindhoven, Netherlands
Shelter location: Netherlands
Date Accepted: August 29, 2009
Accommodating to the threat of the May 1940’s German invasion, the World War II bunker shelter integrates with a climatic responsive architecture, in tune with a contemporary threat. ArmyGreen invites its visitors to enjoy the landscape with an awareness of the surrounding battlefields and the ecological challenges of today. The building envelope consists of a smart folding surface, organizing access, interior space, outdoor terraces, views, and functional and climatic aspects.
