Built in 1960, it is named for Arch B. Conklin who served at the University as Dean of Men and then as Dean of Students and Gerald Saddlemire, Professor Emeritus of College Student Personnel. The east and west wings of Conklin hall are individual units that serve as houses for several BGSU fraternities, sororities and learning communities.
