Real rock scanned (rock049). We are using these models to test our Rocksolver software which solves the jigsaw puzzle of building with irregular-shaped blocks of unprocessed rock (follow links for more information). Mesh reduced to 252 vertices (500 triangular faces) using MeshLab. The model was derived from a natural rock so its shape will have a natural look when scaled to any size. Model painted with a photo of lichen growing on sandstone in Sydney. To find other models textured with lichen search for "LicTex", to find other models textured with sandstone search for "SstTex" or to find models with the same texture as this model search for "SydSsL03". See website link below for more information about Rocksolver. The original rock is a piece of basalt from Bombo quarry south of Sydney and is about 100mm long.
