Designed by Wieslaw Michalek From: Kraków, Poland Shelter location: Poland Date Accepted: August 27, 2009 In my region, agricultural produce and food stuffs are stored in earth mounds. So why can’t people “preserve” themselves in this way? The shelter is submerged in the soil like a truffle. It can emerge sequentially like a piston, depending on whether it has to be a living-room or a bedroom. It is warm and safe there, invisible, and ecological. The shelter is present at one time and gone the other.
