80,000 seater stadium. due to start construction in April 2008. After Olymics are over will convert to 25,000 seater stadium that may be used for community, a football or rugby team and athletics events. A cable supported roof will provide cover for two thirds of the spectators and a fabric curtain will wrap around the stadium to provide some of the shelter. Facilities such as catering and merchandising will be housed in self contained "pod" like structures.
