Clarke Memorial Fountain (widely known as Stonehenge on Notre Dame's campus) was erected in 1986 in memory of the soldiers who gave their lives fighting in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. It features four large limestone "arches" surrounding a heavy brown sphere. Stonehenge functions as a working water feature and is a popular on campus meeting spot for students, faculty, and visitors.
