"At the aftermost end of the Boat Deck was the Entrance at the head of the foward Second Class staircase. Inside, the foyer was handsomely paneled in oak and tiled with the "lino" tiles that were common throughout the Second Class areas. In addition to a stairwell, an elevator traveled between F Deck and the Boat Deck. There was no access to A Deck. While not grand in the sense of a First Class staircase, it was one of the noted features of the ship."
