In 1997 Norma Dutton and Peter Gregg launched the Arthouse in their suburban Christchurch home. The gallery soon grew and two years later relocated to more suitable premises in a two storey villa in central Christchurch where they remained for eight and a half years, exhibiting and selling high quality art from contemporary New Zealand artists. Now the Arthouse has moved again, this time to a purpose-built space occupying the ground floor of the Gallery Apartments building at 62 Gloucester Street, adjacent to the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu and in the heart of Christchurch’s cultural precinct.
