The village of Holzingen with its 300 inhabitants belongs to the City of Weißenburg, four kilometers away, and has a small church, St. Margareta. First mentioned in a document of 1363, the different parts of the church stem from the 14th to 16th century. The curch was re-decorated in baroque style in 1689 and the tower was extended. There are a few remarkable details inside, such as the scarce painting of a "death crown", the baptistery from 1689 and a pulpit which probably stood in the Carmelite Church in Weißenburg before.
