La cathédrale de Strasbourg à été construite entre 1176 et 1439 c'est une cathédrale de style roman. « Prodige du gigantesque et du délicat » selon Victor Hugo, elle mesure 142m au sommet de la flêche. Elle est restée l'édifice le plus haut du monde jusqu'en 1874.
