Designed by Nicolas Bell
From: Kodiak, Ak, United States
Shelter location: Bahrain
Date submitted: August 25, 2009
Bahrain's cruel desert sun beats down on visitors. This shelter, designed with local architecture concepts and yet still keeping it modern, allows its occupant to have a shady escape from the sun using open walls to allow cool air to flow, yet also shade. Deserts, although hot, have other dangers. Sandstorm. The wall openings are designed to have louvers to close up the wall to block dangers of sandstorms.
