The Arkansas State Capitol Building, the seat of government of the State of Arkansas, is located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Construction on the Capitol started in 1899 with George Mann and ended in 1915 with Cass Gilbert. At 230 feet tall, the building is clad in limestone quarried in nearby Batesville, Arkansas. At the time of construction, the total building cost was $2.2 million dollars, the equivalent of $320 million dollars valued in today's currency. The front entrance doors are made of bronze, measuring 10 feet tall and four inches thick and were purchased from Tiffany’s in New York for $10,000 dollars.
